I did try using another wifi network for the WAN connection to confirm the router is working properly and that works as expected. I tried using the clone MAC option on the interface using MAC address from a laptop that has already been connected to Optimum successfully but still no go. Signal strength is adequate when the router is placed in the right place but it won't pass traffic. The signal is a bit too weak to get service directly from my devices so I am trying to set up an TL-WDR3600 to connect to optimum as a WAN link over wifi and a local SSID for the LAN side. The location I am at has outdoor public wifi (optimum) which I have an account for.
